Packed Up & More or Less Ready

We have passports, visas, equipment carnés, the skeleton documentary equipment package, cipro, artemisinin (a natural anti-malarial, of course!), books, loaded ipod, politically-correct-coverage clothing, favorite pillows, fuzzy socks and earplugs. We leave behind a scrappy garden, miscellaneous pending projects, a lumpy kitty, friends & family to hold down the fort, and a beautiful autumn afternoon....

Hi Jennifer and Bailey, I look forward to hearing of your adventures. Bailey, I am Ann Hamilton Brainerd, breeder of Sweetie Chops, mother of Whitney and Stewart Cooper, former M.I'er and friend of your Mom and Dad, although I haven't seen them for twenty years. My husband, Lyman, and I have had several trips to Ghana, Tanzania and Kenya with his non-profit work for Engenderhealth based in N.Y. City. (Lyman was Board Chair for many years) Whitney and Ken adopted two children from Sierra Leone and they are a wonderful addition to our family. Cheers, Ann

You guys are braver than me! I recommend: "Dark Star Africa" by Paul Theroux. It's about 5 years old and a sort of travel book, lots of good info. Have fun, Andy
